Dry Needling in Weatherford, TX for Holistic Healing
Dry Needling in Weatherford, TX: Dr. Heather Wright, our chiropractor in Weatherford, is Board Licensed in Acupuncture (NBCE) and offers dry needling for patients dealing with acute musculoskeletal pain and for trigger point release and myofascial release. Dry needling is an extremely effective, painless technique that uses very fine acupuncture needles to deactivate painful or knotted areas in the muscles. The needle can treat very deep parts of the muscle to help achieve pain relief that you may never thought possible.

How Dry Needling Works
The small needles are inserted into the skin and muscle to release painful myofascial trigger points. The term ‘dry needling’ is used because there is no solution injected into the body as with a hypodermic needle. With dry needling, the acupuncture needle itself produces the treatment.
When repetitive or overuse injuries occur, inflammation can be produced from the damaged tissues. The aggravated area becomes hypoxic (decreased in oxygen) which causes the body to produce scar tissue. When we place a needle into muscle, it will produce a controlled lesion and cut between the individual muscle fibers. The body considers the needle a foreign invader and activates the immune system as a response. The cut muscle fibers produces an inflammatory reaction that the body will respond to not just locally but all over the body to reduce inflammation systemically.
